New Aha! Whiteboards + Jira integration

You can already include Aha! records — such as ideas, epics, and features — on a whiteboard. And you can now add work items from Jira, too. This makes it easy to plan program increments and sprints with the team. Quickly add existing work items to a whiteboard, moving items around freely as you discuss priorities and timing. Then, commit to the plan and get straight to work.

Use the new integration with Jira to quickly add records to your whiteboard — so you can refine priorities and plans.

This integration is a breeze to set up. Simply copy a link to any Jira record and paste it on your whiteboard. (You will be asked to authenticate with your Jira account.) The record will then appear as a card on the whiteboard — along with details such as the issue type, ID, summary, and status. From there, keep adding as many records as you need and interact with them freely on your whiteboard. Click on a card to open up the record back in Jira at any time.

You might be wondering how this integration fits with the one we already provide between Aha! Roadmaps and Jira. The latter is primarily for sending planned work to your engineering team for implementation. In that scenario, corresponding records exist in both tools. Which means that you can already add those items to a whiteboard directly from Aha! Roadmaps. This new integration lets you add records that only live in Jira to a whiteboard — so you can get a complete picture of the work. Let's take a closer look.

In the example below, we set up a whiteboard for sprint planning and add in high-priority features from Aha! Roadmaps. Engineering also has some urgent technical debt items which only exist in Jira that need to be prioritized — so we quickly pull those in as well. Now, we can have a realistic discussion about what the team can commit to. We quickly update the record details in the respective tools and schedule the work.
