Export your roadmaps to a whiteboard for team review

Product roadmaps are built on strategy, but they are rarely concrete. As teams align on priorities, new information emerges and plans evolve. The challenge is balancing flexibility with control — allowing room for discussion without making changes that disrupt your roadmap too soon. Now, you can do exactly that.

Export roadmaps to whiteboards in Aha! Roadmaps. This gives you a space to gather feedback, explore alternatives, and refine plans before confirming changes.

Whiteboards are ideal for working through early concepts. You can bring structured data from Aha! Roadmaps into that space — including list reports, Gantt charts, and more — to discuss timelines and trade-offs. The free-form environment makes it easy to adjust plans without affecting underlying records, so you can confidently make decisions before committing to changes.

Now, you can add different types of roadmaps to whiteboards (strategy, features, and custom) as well. Simply click on the Add to menu in your roadmap, select Whiteboard as records, and choose your whiteboard. Then, watch as your roadmap's timeline and records are instantly recreated, letting you analyze different paths forward before finalizing updates. When you are ready to commit to a change, open the record in the drawer and adjust its data right from the whiteboard.

Let's take a closer look:

Work through scenarios together

Give stakeholders an easy way to engage with your roadmap. Below, we added a strategic roadmap to our presentation slides template for a quarterly planning discussion. Everyone can review it in advance, leave comments, and add context before the live review.

Open the Frames panel to organize slides and hide any you do not need in presentation mode.

Adjust plans in real time

As discussions unfold, changes often follow. Below, a stakeholder requested a timeline shift to align with an upcoming conference. We updated the whiteboard version first — seeing how the adjustment would impact other features. Once finalized, we made an update to the original records directly from the whiteboard.

Whiteboard shapes reflect the start and end dates and progress from the original roadmap export.

Early stakeholder alignment reduces last-minute changes and surprises.

When using a whiteboard as a workspace for roadmap discussions, you can adjust dates, sequence launches, or test alternative plans — all without affecting live records (until you are ready). This gives your team the freedom to explore options and align on the best path forward. Try it out and see how it streamlines your roadmap discussions.
