Just Launched! — The World’s Best Board for Managing Features
We might be a bit biased, but we think Aha! is awesome. Perhaps it is because you often tell us how much you love us. As a thank you, we just improved what was already the best way for product managers to define and manage product features. Maybe we are a little full of ourselves — you decide.
You can now automatically rerank the Aha! features board according to attributes and priorities.
You could already organize your features into backlogs and upcoming releases. You could also drag and drop those features to reflect priority — ensuring your team focuses on what will have the biggest impact on the business. However, you could not auto-rank them based on different criteria.
It is now possible to auto-rank features in each release by Aha! score, tags, creation date, and more. That is why we think Aha! has the world’s best features board. Here is how it works:
Plan and prioritize The features board is where you plan upcoming releases and features as you prepare for development. Drag and drop features in and out of the parking lot, or move them from one release to another.
In Aha!, the features board is made up of releases on the left and backlogs (or parking lots) in the gray area on the right.
Objectively auto-rank by Aha! score With the Aha! scorecard, you could already assign an objective value to each feature — with metrics, scales, and weights customized to reflect your overall strategy. Now, you can automatically rerank features by Aha! score within your release. With this view, you can be sure the features deemed most valuable to your business will be prioritized first.
Visualize features by effort Turn on capacity planning to estimate the amount of effort it will take to develop features or requirements at a high level. This allows you to predict release dates with more accuracy or make trade-offs early on. Once capacity planning is enabled, you will have the option to rerank the release by effort. Then, you can identify the features that will require the most engineering time.
Sort features using the new drop-down option on each release.
Organize your backlog The ability to auto-rank is also applicable to features in the parking lot. You can use the new functionality to help you decide what to work on next. For example, if you tag features with customer names, you can rerank by tag to see which features were requested by high-profile customers when deciding what to prioritize.
Features in the parking lot have the same auto-rank options as those currently being worked.
The Aha! features board is the one place where product managers can easily define features, organize releases, and prioritize work.
If you have a JIRA or Rally integration configured, you will want to read the updated support article to help you understand how auto-ranking your features board may impact other systems.
We know that you are as ambitious as we are. Hopefully, this enhancement serves you well, and you agree that it is the world’s best board for managing features.
