Run confidence voting sessions during PI planning in Aha! Whiteboards
"Show of hands — how confident are you on a scale of zero to five?"
This is confidence voting during PI planning in action. It gives members of the agile release train (ART) a quick, transparent way to express their levels of confidence in the proposed plan. But when the team is large or distributed, counting fingers becomes impractical. Today’s update introduces new functionality in Aha! Whiteboards that accelerates confidence voting.
Run fist to five voting sessions on whiteboards to understand the team's level of confidence in achieving your PI planning objectives.
This update builds on existing voting functionality and is included in the Aha! Whiteboards Advanced plan. Now, when you select Voting in the right panel, you can choose between two types:
Select Standard to vote on specific items on your whiteboard.
Or try the new Fist to five option to capture confidence votes at the board level.
Below, we set up a whiteboard for PI planning. Each team in the ART has created a sprint plan and identified any risks and dependencies. It is now time for everyone to regroup and commit to the overall plan.
We start a fist to five voting session and set a time limit of two minutes. Each teammate gets one vote on a scale of zero to five. At the end of the session, we can view the average of our confidence votes, look at individual scores, and address any concerns raised.
Allow teammates to give input on the plan before moving forward.
