New “Time in Status” Field in Aha! Develop
There are many reasons why new functionality can take longer than expected to deliver. From technical issues to dependencies and bottlenecks, navigating the unexpected is part of the job for developers and technical leaders. What matters is that you keep things moving — so you can deliver value to customers. Today's update enables you to see how long work has been in progress.
You can now see how many days a work item has been in the current status on the workflow board in Aha! Develop — making it easier to spot potential issues.
We have introduced a new "Time in status" field for epics, features, and requirements. Add this field to your card layout on the workflow board to see the number of days each item has been in its current status. The timer automatically resets when a card progresses to the next status. You will also see a new "Days in status" filter — so you can zero in on work that has not moved in a certain number of days.
Use the list view to filter and sort by the number of days in status — so you can quickly see if any work items are falling behind. Customers who use Aha! Develop with Aha! Roadmaps can also take advantage of advanced reporting capabilities, including pivot tables and charts, to analyze where work is getting held up across teams.
Now let's take a closer look at one example of how you can use "Time in status" to stay on track:
Jumpstart stalled work
Highlight lagging work items during your daily standup. In the example below, we filtered the workflow board to view any cards that have a time in status of more than five days. This can prompt an open conversation about any concerns and where help might be needed.
Tracking time in status is one more way Aha! Develop delivers insights into how work flows across your team — and where you might find opportunities to deliver even more value.
So head to the workflow board in your Aha! Develop account and add "Time in status" to your card layout — let us know what you discover. And if you are on the Aha! Develop Advanced plan, be sure to explore our agile reports for even more insights into team performance.
