New Aha! Develop + TestRail integration

by Claire George

No one likes bugs (except maybe an entomologist). This is why testing code before it ships is so important. But tracking down test details can slow your progress, especially when testing happens in a separate tool. Today's launch makes it possible to see the status of tests directly in Aha! Develop — so you can ship better code, faster.

Integrate with TestRail to track test cases and test runs right in Aha! Develop.

Now, you can link testing details to features, requirements, and sprints in Aha! Develop. This gives everyone on your team visibility into what is being tested and the current status without leaving your agile tool. It also streamlines who needs access to your test management system — you only need to pay license fees for people doing the testing, not for every developer.

To get started, an administrator with customization permissions can install the TestRail extension from the extension library. Each user will then need to enable it in their personal settings. A new Tests tab will show up on features, requirements, and sprints. This is where you can link to relevant test cases and runs — and view the latest test results and notes from your QA team.

Let's take a closer look at what you can do:

Track test status

Monitor testing progress in real time. Here, we connect a feature to its related test case in TestRail. Uh-oh — the latest test failed. Thankfully, the tester left a note to explain why so engineering can quickly take action to fix the issue. No need to log in to TestRail.

Review test run results

Deliver high-quality, working software at the end of each sprint. Here, we link our current sprint to the test run. This makes it easy for engineering leads and scrum masters to check the status of all of the tests in one view. Once everything passes, we can ship the work and mark the sprint as complete.

Connect your agile development tool with the rest of your stack to streamline workflows — so you can deliver great user experiences, faster.

If your team uses TestRail, try the new extension today. Then, explore the rest of our open-source extension library. Aha! Develop offers more than 25 integrations with popular tools in your tech stack for CI/CD, design, issue tracking, source code, and support. And if you rely on a tool we do not integrate with yet, let us know.
