My Name Is Jeanette Resnikoff — This Is Why I Joined Aha!
What makes an artist great? I had an opportunity to study some of the greats when I attended a magnet school for visual arts in junior high. I also created all kinds of art. I liked drawing the most and captured the world around me — people, movement, still life. I loved the challenge of bringing a three-dimensional perspective to a two-dimensional format. And in the process, I learned what makes an artist great. It is the ability to bring a unique point of view to your work.
I have found career success by always centering my mindset around that same idea — perspective can change everything.
My interest in art led me to marketing and market research. During my senior year at Virginia Tech, I did a work-study program at a logistics company called Norfolk Southern. My role there focused on measuring and analyzing company traffic volumes and demand forecasting. I loved how I could use data to uncover perspectives the company had never considered before.
After graduation, I wanted to continue using data to help companies shift their thinking. I moved to Florida where I took a few roles that allowed me to do this. First was at a startup where I focused on search marketing analytics. I then moved to a national ad agency where I honed my analytical skills and successfully grew the company’s digital team.
My husband and I moved to New York a few years later and I started working at Comscore, a research and analytics company. One of my favorite projects at Comscore was conducting market research for companies like Pfizer, Volvo, and Google. I measured campaigns, managed surveys, and presented the resulting data through different lenses to help our customers make smarter advertising decisions.
I believed there had to be a better way to approach campaign measurement, so I began to think about the process differently. I eventually lead the development of a more advanced measurement format that used multiple research panels and a combination of data sources. It started out as a custom offering but it quickly became a recurring request from customers. So I joined the product team and turned the project into a full-fledged solution. It was the first-ever product in the advertising measurement industry to de-duplicate the exposure of a campaign across media formats.
I was proud of what I had achieved at Comscore but was ready to take my skills to a new industry. I had often read the Aha! product management guide when I first became a product manager. As I became more familiar with the company's history, I realized that this was an organization with a truly unique point of view.
No outside funding, no salespeople, and an entirely remote team of experts that actually used the product they built — everything about the Aha! approach appealed to me. Joining the Customer Success team felt like the perfect move. I had experience in product management, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a desire to work directly with innovative customers. I applied right away.
My interactions in the interview process were insightful and solidified my view that Aha! truly is the elite team that I admired.
Now I put my own critical thinking to good use every day. For example, I lead demo sessions for prospective customers looking to learn more about how Aha! can help them. I enjoy hearing various perspectives about our product and adapting my thinking in response to their needs. I also help current customers work through deeper challenges and share my own product experiences. I revel in the opportunity to think creatively about how Aha! can help them view their work differently.
I love when a product management concept clicks for a customer and they can finally see how everything ties together.
My favorite part about working at Aha! is that we have a framework for success centered around being responsive. It is core to how we operate. The Responsive Method empowers us to welcome interruptions and always be bold, curious, and transparent in our responses. It is refreshing to be a part of an organization that encourages everyone to do their best work.
Every day at Aha! I continue to be reminded of the importance of bringing a fresh perspective to work and life. The answer to most problems is usually there, but sometimes you need to shift your thinking to see it clearly.
That is why I joined Aha! — and why you should too.
