Just Launched! — Map New Fields From Jira and Rally to Aha!
You love our powerful integrations with Jira and Rally. Thousands of product teams collaborate with engineering on requirements, communicate roadmap changes, and track progress throughout the development process. We keep enhancing these integrations based on your feedback as to exactly which details you need to be in sync between systems.
New field mappings between Aha! and development systems give you even greater visibility into development progress.
Options to map default or custom fields in Aha! to any “like” field in your development tool give you control over exactly what is shared between the two systems. And you can specify which direction the updates should flow too.
You could already integrate hundreds of fields with Jira and Rally. But sometimes there is additional information that engineering captures in their development tool that the product team wants to see. Today's update introduces new field mappings that many of you requested — for example, Jira users can now send over epic percent done details.
If your team uses Rally, you will love a variety of new options. We made it possible to send fields such as project, release, and leaf story plan estimate total — as well as sync blocked fields. And if you use portfolio items, you can now sync actual start and end dates, investment, and investment category fields directly in Aha!
You need to be a workspace owner to create new integrations and manage field mappings in existing ones. Owners and contributors can use integrations to send updates.
Here are two examples of what you can do:
Sync epic progress with Jira
Instantly see if big efforts of work are on track. Map the epic percent done field to get real-time visibility into the progress of epics in Aha! as work is completed in Jira. Progress is calculated based on the number of user stories that are completed in Jira.
See when features are blocked in Rally
Stay informed of issues that could impact your plans and understand the reason why. You want to know immediately if the engineering team discovers a blocker during development. In the example below, we mapped the blocked field in Rally to a predefined tag field in Aha! — then we mapped the blocked reason field to a custom text field. After you update the integration, any features marked as blocked in Rally will automatically be tagged as such in Aha!
Tightly synced product and engineering teams are crucial to successful roadmap delivery.
These new field mappings will help you work even more effectively across teams. And the next time engineering makes progress on an epic in Jira or an issue becomes blocked in Rally — you will instantly know.
