Import Trello Cards Into Aha! for Visual Product Roadmaps
This blog refers to a previous version of our Trello integration. Read about the latest enhancements here.
You can now import cards and lists directly into Aha! from Trello. This builds on our broad existing set of integrations. The new import capabilities are important for product management teams that have outgrown Trello and are looking to take advantage of Aha! for more structured product strategy, visual roadmapping, and detailed definition of features and requirements.
There are two good reasons to use this new functionality: (1) to seed your Aha! account with features and requirements already captured in Trello and (2) to incrementally add features to Aha! that have been created in Trello after your initial upload.
To get started, you first need a Trello and Aha! account. First, login to your Trello account and generate an export file by choosing Share, Print and Export from the menu for a board. Choose Export JSON and save the file that is generated. Now, login to Aha! and go to Account Settings and select the Import from Trello tool. Choose the Aha! product that the features will be added to and select the Trello file for import. It’s that easy.
If you do not have an Aha! account yet, sign up for a 30-day trial to see what you are missing.
Integration capabilities
The following information can be automatically imported from Trello to Aha!
Each list in the Trello file will become a parking lot list with the same name
Each card becomes a feature
All tasks associated with a card become requirements
Labels are transferred as tags
Attachments are transferred as well
The import will take place in the background and may take several minutes or longer depending on the amount of info that needs to be imported. Just be a bit patient if you have lots of cards and lists. Running the import multiple times will create duplicate features in Aha! (which can be deleted using the bulk edit control on the Feature list view if you need to).
Aha! now allows all teams that may have started with Trello for roadmap planning to automatically import their ideas into Aha!
