Just Launched! — Create the Perfect Board to Prioritize Features
“Ship often.” Most product teams want to deliver frequent updates to customers. Our team at Aha! continuously deploys code (after it has been tested) and delivers at least one meaningful new feature nearly every week. Of course, more customer delight means more features to track.
Perhaps that is why the features board is the most popular view in Aha! — many product teams use it daily to stay on top of feature details and release progress. But when you have many releases in different stages of planning and implementation, the features board can feel crowded. So we created a new way to focus on the releases that matter to you.
You can now use the releases dropdown on the features board to show only what is relevant to your current task or audience — fast.
If you were already a power user of the features board, you know that it was possible to filter the features board in many different ways. Now, you are able to quickly hide and show releases on the board with this new dropdown.
Even better, once you have selected the releases you want to see on the features board, you can add that specific view to an Aha! Notebook — and that view will persist even if the Notebook refreshes on live update.
Here is how you can get the most out of the improved features board:
Plan and prioritize features into releases The features board is where you organize backlogs (we call it a “parking lot”) and upcoming releases. You can drag and drop features in and out of the parking lot, or move them from one release to another. Place features in priority order or rank them according to business value.
Active releases are on the left and the backlog (or parking lot) is in the gray area on the right.
Choose which releases to show Use the releases dropdown to select what is shown on your features board. This is really helpful when you have lots and lots of releases in one product — especially if you work with a large team.
The releases dropdown defaults to show all releases — select the ones you want.
Share those releases with others The features board can also be a powerful communication tool. The visual feature cards and color-coded statuses are easy to understand. But you have one features board and many audiences. Create views with specific releases to share with your internal teams, partners, or customers. (Remember — that view you add will persist even if the Notebook refreshes on live update.)
We hope these improvements to the features board make your life as a product manager a little bit happier.
