Create business process diagrams with BPMN shapes in Aha! Whiteboards

If you create business process diagrams, you are probably familiar with the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) standard. It provides a common language to visually depict the steps in a business or operational process. Today's update gives you access to BPMN shapes in Aha! Whiteboards — so you can design, implement, and refine complex processes in a collaborative way.

Choose from more than 100 BPMN shapes and connectors to visually represent your business processes on a whiteboard in Aha! software.

Whiteboards are great for diagramming process flows. Everyone involved can contribute, and you can easily update the whiteboard as workflows evolve. Now, you can use standardized BPMN shapes and connectors in Aha! Whiteboards Advanced to clearly communicate complex processes (think: order fulfillment, invoicing, and incident management).

Start by opening the Shape menu on a whiteboard. Search for the name of the BPMN shape you want, or click the Business processes category to browse all its shapes. You will see that BPMN shapes are further organized by subcategory, including Event, Activity, Gateway, and Flows. You can also Pin the Shape menu to your whiteboard for easy access while you create your diagram.

In the example that follows, we documented the chat support process for the fictitious Fredwin Cycling application. We used standard BPMN shapes to detail each step in the process and show interactions among all parties involved. The team then used whiteboard collaboration tools (including inline comments) to suggest process improvements.

Again, whiteboards are perfect for capturing and sharing complex visual concepts — including process flows, architectural diagrams, and new user experiences. And they just got a lot more powerful with the addition of BPMN shapes.
