The top Aha! software features launched in Q2 2024

by Claire George

It is fun to go fast. Especially when your job is to deliver lovable software to customers. To do this well, you need a clear product strategy, an agreed-upon product development framework, and highly efficient workflows. Only then can you achieve exceptional outcomes.

This quarter, we delivered features across our product suite to help you work more efficiently and deliver more lovable software to your customers.

Having a clearly defined product development framework is key to working consistently and efficiently. That is why we introduced Frameworks last month: a new way to document your team's approach to building and delivering products. As part of that launch, we shared The Aha! Framework for product development to help teams apply a more strategic approach to agile work. (If you want to learn more about how our team builds software, sign up for our next live tutorial on July 25.)

We also delivered a number of new and enhanced integrations to keep information flowing smoothly across systems. Quickly capture work items right from Slack. Use the new Salesforce opportunity report to identify ideas that will drive the most revenue. And bring technical work from Jira or Azure DevOps onto a whiteboard to collaborate on plans.

These are just a few of the enhancements we delivered last quarter. Besides this, we hosted three valuable live tutorials to dive deep into the topics you wanted to learn more about — including PI planning and launching an ideas portal for your customers. (You can watch recordings from past live tutorials on our knowledge base.)

Here are the highlights from Q2 of 2024:

New in Aha! Roadmaps

In addition to the new Frameworks functionality, we delivered exciting features that improve the way you highlight strategic information, capture new product work, and share the most important information about your plans.

  • Share what you know about your ideal customers and top competitors. Use fresh new persona and competitor cards to document information about your market. An updated design and inline editing capabilities make this process more delightful than ever.

  • Optimize how your team works with the new Slack integration. Create features, ideas, and to-dos and add comments to existing work in Aha! software without leaving your conversation in Slack.

  • Communicate upcoming product plans with clarity. View dependency lines on your custom roadmap to highlight work that needs to be coordinated. And share your Now, Next, Later roadmap as an interactive webpage.

Fields you see in Slack will match the record layout you have set up in your workspace settings — including custom fields.

New in Aha! Ideas

In Aha! Ideas, we shipped powerful new ways to uncover revenue-generating ideas and understand what customers need, faster. We also delivered one of your top requests for giving customers the latest details on their feedback.

  • Gain insight into your highest-value ideas and opportunities with the brand-new Salesforce report — available to customers using Aha! Ideas Advanced. Access the new report in the Research section of the Ideas menu. Then, dive in to determine which ideas will drive the most revenue.

  • Use the new AI-powered feature research functionality to understand what your users want without having to read through every single idea. From the Research tab in Aha! Roadmaps, run AI analysis on customers' ideas related to a feature (or initiative, release, or epic). This will generate a structured note with a summary of the ideas as well as their popularity, potential revenue, key use cases, and more.

  • Give customers more information about the ideas in your portal. You can now add more fields to your ideas portal layout, including an idea's assignee, tags, and product value score (plus more if you are using Aha! Ideas with Aha! Roadmaps).

Use custom fields for organizations (such as location, industry, and revenue) to analyze ideas by customer segments.

New in Aha! Whiteboards

Over in Aha! Whiteboards, we continued to introduce functionality aimed at helping product teams run effective planning sessions and drive alignment.

  • Gauge the team's confidence in your plans with our new fist to five voting tool. Set a timer, vote, and review the team's responses all in one place. Try it out during your next PI planning session.

  • Bring helpful context from Aha! Roadmaps directly into your brainstorming and planning sessions. Quickly add roadmap and report views to a whiteboard, then easily search for and import existing ideas and features.

  • Explore new options for bringing outside data into your planning sessions, too. Use the new Jira and Azure DevOps integrations to quickly add records from these tools to your whiteboard. This is a great way to collaborate with engineering on technical work and guide prioritization.

Click on any imported Aha! record to view and edit the details right on your whiteboard.

New in Aha! Knowledge

We shipped new functionality in Aha! Knowledge to help you find, manage, and report on your product documentation. Support for single sign-on (SSO) also streamlines access to your knowledge base.

  • Use meetings — a new type of document — to standardize how you plan and manage conversations. There is space for an agenda, notes, and to-dos, plus new fields for capturing the meeting's date, time, location, and attendees. Better still, you can review past and upcoming meetings on your My work page.

  • Manage and report on your product documentation with ease. You can now add custom fields to documents to capture and report on metadata (such as categories, teams, and status).

  • Make it easy for customers and colleagues to access your knowledge base. If you use Aha! Knowledge Advanced, you can now provide access to a knowledge base with SSO and ensure the right people can view the correct information.

Notes, whiteboards, and meetings can have their own custom fields to capture additional details.
