A fresh new look for personas

by Claire George

Who are we building for? This is a fundamental question for product teams. Everyone on the team needs to know the answer so they can deliver the right solution to the right customer segment.

Share what you know about your ideal customers using personas — now with a fresh look that improves readability and offers a streamlined editing experience.

Today's update helps you clarify your customer profiles. Personas in Aha! Roadmaps give you a central place to define audience segments. You can use them to paint a picture of customer goals, preferences, and challenges — so the product team clearly understands your target audience. Then, connect work (like initiatives and features) back to the persona it serves for a sight line into the impact you are delivering. Better still, you can also create reports to drill into progress and plans for each persona.

Today's improvements make personas even more lovable. The first thing you will notice is a bold new look that is easier to absorb. Larger font sizes and increased contrast improve readability. And a featured quote field brings your customer's voice to the forefront. Plus, inline editing makes it a joy to draft the details.

Existing personas in Aha! Roadmaps have been automatically updated. (Note that the new quote field is hidden by default, and you might need to adjust images within the layout.)

Below, we have an example card within our Strategic personas. We entered a name and profile photo to help drive personalization and connection. And we included what we know about Mateo's background, motivations, pain points, and more. Finally, we added a featured quote to summarize Mateo's core need.
